Alerts and notifications: how to avoid alert fatigue
Too many alerts kill the alert. How to choose what deserves to disturb you, and leave the rest to read when you decide.
An alert is useful when it makes you act in time. If your phone buzzes twenty times a day for unimportant information, you end up ignoring everything, including the urgent item that really mattered. That is alert fatigue.
Sort by urgency level
- Information: good to know, to read whenever you like.
- To follow: to look at during the day.
- Important: to handle quickly.
- Urgent: to handle right now, an alert is justified.
Choose a threshold per person
The manager does not need the same alerts as the person handling orders. Everyone should be able to choose the minimum level that disturbs them.
Mute what is too chatty
Some events arrive very often and are rarely important. Mute them: they stay visible in the dashboard, without ringing.
Keep quiet hours
In the evening and at weekends, only real emergencies should reach you. The rest can wait for the morning brief.
With Pilot-Biz
Each event has a level, you choose the minimum level that triggers a Telegram alert, and you can mute an event type from its business’s catalogue. The morning brief gathers the rest.
